Architect, founder of the Carlo Ratti Associati design firm, Carlo Ratti is a researcher and professor at MIT, and the director of the MIT SENSEable City Lab—one of the leading research centers on the city and new technologies. His approach to urban spaces is based on the central place occupied by information, which is disrupting the very nature of cities as well as their day-to-day operations. This has led him to develop the concept of the “real-time city.”
