Etienne Klein

Physician and philosopher, Etienne Klein holds a Master of Advanced Studies in theoretical physics and a PhD in philosophy of science. He is currently the director of the Research Laboratory for Material Science at the CEA. He was made president of the Institut des Hautes Études pour la Science et la Technologie in 2016 and has taken part in several large-scale projects, such as the design of the Large Hadron Collider. He is a member of the scientific council of the French Parliamentary Office for the Assessment of Scientific and Technological Decisions. His work revolves around philosophy of sciences and quantum physics, which he endeavors to explain outside the frameworks of conventional physics. He is a renowned specialist of the notion of time in physics.
