An architect, curator and professor of design theory, he lectures at the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg (HFBK). Co-founder of the Raumtaktik firm, he has also taught at the Berlin Technical University, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation, the ETH in Zurich, the MIT, the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg and at Goldsmith College in London. In 2008, he was general commissioner for the German contribution to the International Architecture Biennial in Venice.
